The unusual start of a week...

Last week didn't feel like posting anything, due to some work to be sorted out, and a sudden visit by my parents. It's a nice weekend, all in all, so at least I didn't feel too bad on Monday.

There are times where anything that could go wrong will go wrong. At least, I thought, it only apply for video-shooting assignments back in university. Never had I thought that on one Monday morning, when I enter the office, the Internet is not working. No, not just my computer. It is the whole frickin' company's network. Some hardware problems, we're later informed, on Tuesday or Wednesday. And the best part, one current on-going work had a deadline in two days. It wasn't really a surprise, considering which one it is. I had always believed that this series was cursed from the day it was digitized. Even if things started with a smooth sail earlier, there is bound to be some problems later on, especially nearing the deadline, for God knows what reason. In the end, it was an all-nighter marathon, or it'll never meet the line. Only after that I was told about the other unexpected events that happened before Monday's, starting with some problems that wasn't there until a day or two ago (and it wasn't even our fault), then to rectify it during the weekend, but electricity went off just when things are saving... It's cursed, isn't it?

After that, on the same Tuesday that I got back from work at 11am, I had another appointment at 9pm. At least it is 9pm. Slept part of the day off, but just had to wake up to guzzle cold water and ate a whole raw cucumber before going back to sleep again. At least I'm still functioning throughout the meeting later, without needing coffee (yay!). The cozy dinner at Tang Shifu may have helped a bit (some herbal eggs with a bowl of soothing sweet herbal soup).

After that, all's back to normal, choir practice and all. Getting to sing out loud feels really really good.

In the meantime, original story plot is going nowhere, seeing I can't even imagine a good setting for it, and am more interested in completing some of my fanfictions. Not even sure if I can really get a book out in 10 years' time. Well, it is worth a try, as I get along. Maybe will even consider working elsewhere/across the strait. Who knows? Seeing the economic situation here, where living cost are rising faster than our pay cheques can cope, working abroad may be the only option left, if my book doesn't gets published.

The reality of life.
