Ramdom rambling again

There.. isn't much happening for the week, though did went for a Christmas shopping yesterday. Just hope the present I got isn't too bad. And I will need to call TGI Friday to confirm my booking. Oh, and wrap the gift too.

Better sleep now, as I'm at a lost of what I want to say.

And being obsessed with a new OT3 is not helping. *Squee~

Fear

Do not underestimate fear. Just a little bit of that could fail you.

It was something I realised during the 3-days production for a music video shoot. I was floundering in my position, and guess what was the root? Fear of screwing up. And it took a friend's view to see it. When I finally got over that mindset on day-3, it was the most satisfying job-well-done day I've had.

overcome the mindset, and you'll eventually conquer the problem.

Thank you very much

I'm not sure if my friends are reading this, but just to put these down in words, I'm really thankful for the birthday party they held for me and my other friend. We're both November, and only a few days apart, so, yeah. And it was a good time at Brussels Cafe@Jaya One.
The vege fettucine is scrumptious, and the pumpkin soup's just right - right thickness and full of flavor. The other alfredo spaghetti is not bad either, despite being a bit too rich, but the accompanying mushroom soup's one of the better ones I've tried in so many places. The appetizer, smoked salmon salad, is not bad too, despite the rather small serving (but it could be that our number exceeded the maximum portion =P). The small preserved fig-like fruits(?) are the accents, their strong, tart flavors lit up the plain sweet taste from the lettuce and leafy greens, as well as enhancing the flavors of the smoked salmon. Since we all are working the next day, and most of us driving, non-alcoholic beverages are the preferred choice. I'd liked to try their house beer or some cocktail, but I'm not risking a hangover if I overindulge. No thanks, I need to complete my stuff at work.
All is wrapped up with some nice warm brownies and ice-cream, courtesy of Brussels for the birthday girl, and a chocolate mousse birthday cake. And did I mention the friendly, helpful staff, despite the busy night? :D
Come to think of it, this may be some sort of unconscious wish came true. I recalled countless times I've passed by said cafe, and have promised to come and have a drink there some time later. Guess that later did came as this day.

Even if there wasn't any party or such, I wouldn't have minded. In times when our financial situation wasn't that good, and despite that, my parents still wished to have a celebration, it made felt a bit bad. That they could have saved up the sum instead of spending it on a birthday dinner and cake. Perhaps it's just me with too much on my mind, or over-analyzing stuff. But I am very grateful too, for that. And I certainly would try not to miss anyone's birthday, now that I have my own earnings and can actually hold a celebration for them, from my own abilities and sincerity.

Too bad all the photos I've taken were bad in quality due to the lighting, and I didn't remember to use flash. Was a bit of a waste. Sigh.

The unusual start of a week...

Last week didn't feel like posting anything, due to some work to be sorted out, and a sudden visit by my parents. It's a nice weekend, all in all, so at least I didn't feel too bad on Monday.

There are times where anything that could go wrong will go wrong. At least, I thought, it only apply for video-shooting assignments back in university. Never had I thought that on one Monday morning, when I enter the office, the Internet is not working. No, not just my computer. It is the whole frickin' company's network. Some hardware problems, we're later informed, on Tuesday or Wednesday. And the best part, one current on-going work had a deadline in two days. It wasn't really a surprise, considering which one it is. I had always believed that this series was cursed from the day it was digitized. Even if things started with a smooth sail earlier, there is bound to be some problems later on, especially nearing the deadline, for God knows what reason. In the end, it was an all-nighter marathon, or it'll never meet the line. Only after that I was told about the other unexpected events that happened before Monday's, starting with some problems that wasn't there until a day or two ago (and it wasn't even our fault), then to rectify it during the weekend, but electricity went off just when things are saving... It's cursed, isn't it?

After that, on the same Tuesday that I got back from work at 11am, I had another appointment at 9pm. At least it is 9pm. Slept part of the day off, but just had to wake up to guzzle cold water and ate a whole raw cucumber before going back to sleep again. At least I'm still functioning throughout the meeting later, without needing coffee (yay!). The cozy dinner at Tang Shifu may have helped a bit (some herbal eggs with a bowl of soothing sweet herbal soup).

After that, all's back to normal, choir practice and all. Getting to sing out loud feels really really good.

In the meantime, original story plot is going nowhere, seeing I can't even imagine a good setting for it, and am more interested in completing some of my fanfictions. Not even sure if I can really get a book out in 10 years' time. Well, it is worth a try, as I get along. Maybe will even consider working elsewhere/across the strait. Who knows? Seeing the economic situation here, where living cost are rising faster than our pay cheques can cope, working abroad may be the only option left, if my book doesn't gets published.

The reality of life.

Explanation

The idea for the creation of this blog, is to make me write. A place for me to keep all the little notes and stuff that I've scribbled on any possible surface available, so that none gets lost over time, or destroyed (happens often to receipts or small pieces of blank paper tore out from used notes).
So far, I don't have the slightest idea of what I'll write, or want to write; but I guess that's what this is for - so that I don't need to think about what; just dump everything in here. And when feeling like it, just take an idea and further expand. Probably, over a period of time, something can be collected and combined into one single piece that make sense.
Today is a lovely day to stay at home and relax, so would probably think of something. In the meantime, I'll just continue with some reading, and check for unfinished stuff to complete.

Have a nice day.

Nice Lunch

The Nasi Briyani is just nice; and the kurma curry goes perfectly well with the briyani. Best of all, I don't need to pay any money. But couldn't take photos, 'coz hands are too busy (one plate with nasi, the other with curry).
... and here goes another nonsense entry...
